Pirelli P Zero Run Flat (PZ4) Tires
The Pirelli P Zero Run Flat (PZ4) is a performance and high performance, summer tire made to be mounted on performance and passenger vehicles.
The tire was manufactured with the run flat technology. In other words, the tire is capable of withstanding the weight of the vehicle and its passenger after air pressure loss for 50 miles up to 50 mph. This allows the driver to drive to a nearby location to change or fix the tires, without being stranded on the side of the road. As run flat tires are manufactured with a heavier construction, they cannot be mixed with regular tires on the same vehicles.
The model guarantees excellent summer weather traction. The silica and carbon black compound and the asymmetric tread design work together to upgrade the dry and wet weather traction. However, the model is not meant to be used in winter weather. The wide circumferential tread grooves prevent hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. The enhanced traction and exceptional hydroplaning resistance ensure a safer summer weather driving experience.
The Pirelli P Zero Run Flat (PZ4) ensures first-rate controllability. The tread design improves the road grip and maintains its contact with the road surface at all times. This boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the tire’s stability is ensured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. This combination ensures a secure drive throughout the tire’s lifetime.
This tire model was manufactured as the original equipment tire of select BMW vehicles.
This specific tire is from 2018. DOT 2018.
Tires older than 5 years are not eligible for the manufacturer’s mileage warranty anymore.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
